Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – Southcraig School

Southcraig Expedition
10 February 2021

Staff supported young people to complete their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Awards.

The pupils worked towards their skills, physical and volunteering sections showing outstanding commitment and resilience to achieve Bronze awards despite the challenges of COVID-19. The pupils also took part in an adapted localised expedition during November 2020- the final section of their awards. As part of their expedition the young people explored the life and work of Robert Burns, visiting Burns Cottage and walking the historic Poets Path. This is a fantastic achievement and the commitment shown by the pupils will be recognised by the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the young people are encouraged to work towards a Silver award over the coming year.
